About KoreaSimple
KoreaSimple is an independent guide for people visiting or living in Korea.
What we cover
Getting a SIM card, using transit cards, getting from the airport into the city, registering as a resident, opening a bank account, joining national health insurance, and knowing who to call in an emergency, plus K-beauty label and sunscreen basics and a few calculators built on official rates. Korea has plenty of official information, but much of it is in Korean or scattered across many websites. We pull it together in plain English.
How we write our guides
- Facts, fees and procedures are checked against official or primary sources, which are linked at the bottom of every guide.
- Each guide shows a "Last verified" date, because rules and prices change.
- We do not invent personal experiences or reviews. If we have not tested something ourselves, we do not say that we did.
Corrections
If you spot something outdated or wrong, please tell us through the Contact page and include the page address. We update the guide and its "Last verified" date.
